WSLAM Magazine Volume 1 was a project that began with the simple idea of celebrating the past 25 years of the WNBA. The magazine began with deciding what the cover would be, who would be on it and what the vision for the 82-page issue would follow. Ultimately, I envisioned celebrating the then current stars through the lens of the year that the WNBA was founded: 1997.
Immersed in late 90’s fashion and culture, the cover featured 3 of the most influential players both on and off the court with unique journeys to the league: Betnijah Laney of the New York Liberty, Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings and Diamond DeShields of the Chicago Sky.
